Futsal, a high action brand of soccer played on a basketball gym floor. Only ten players, including both goalies on the floor at a given time. Futsal from the Spanish and French words mean Futbol Salon. Futsal started in Uruguay and is very popular in Brazil, Spain and Italy. Pele, Maradona and Ronaldo learned their other wordly moves playing Futsal. In Futsal, there are only five players per side so every player touches the ball all the time. You cannot hide!
The game is played from basketball court line, not off the wall. There are no throw-ins, but a pass back is allowed. The ball must remain below the chest level, no high kicking. During the Winter and Spring, outdoor activities will be limited for the children. By playing Futsal, they will remain active and fit and their skill, touch dribbling with vision will improve by the number of times they touch the ball.
Equipment Needed: Indoor Shoes, Shin Pads, Dress to Play.
NO food or drink allowed in the gym.
